Black Ops Copter

about

"Black Ops Copter” was an idea for an entire Shunned House album that never materialized. Now a Nuclear Aliens track. While visiting the actual Shunned House nicknamed apartment CJ lived in, I took photos of the exterior (and interior) looking for something to use as album art. The cover here on bandcamp (pictured) the sky was originally blank, so a rather boring image. I thought of things to place in the sky. I have always been intrigued by UFO conspiracies and black helicopters is a fascinating subject so helicopters was quickly thought of. When naming things I sometimes do it really fast, and stick with it, just so I can move on. For whatever reason I landed on “Black Ops Copter” instead of other wording such as “Black Copters” etc.

So a little photo-shopping later, after adding a dark cloudy sky and not one but two black helicopters (two is more menacing and could represent our two person band), a concept was born. By the way, this was 2009 one year before “Call of Duty” Black Ops was released. This concept of an album at that point had very sparse music recorded for it. This track presented here for download was basically the start of things. The idea was to make a dark experimental album but it just never happened.

“Black Ops Copter” was recorded by me with a midi based program and was to be given to CJ to add guitar or bass or anything, but never was given to him. Who knows where it could have gone. At around this time however there was a lot of chaos going on at the actual shunned house where CJ lived, so it was not easy to produce as a band.

I just thought, I gave away the goose on the creation process of the image art for this track. Hmmm sorry about that, but is it really possible those who don't read this might actually think it’s an authentic image of two helicopters flying together as pictured? It would be an impressive snapshot for sure but I'm here to write the real story even though some things are better left unsaid especially in art. Well, keep this inside info for yourself.
